Attorney: Bill Connor

South Carolina Attorney Bill Connor

Bill Connor is first and foremost a Christian and a devoted family man. He has been married to his lovely wife, Susan, for over three decades. Together, they are blessed with three beautiful children: Peyton, Brenna, and Will, and two wonderful grandsons, William and John Paul.

Connor is the owner and lawyer for Bill Connor Law Firm, LLC. He is a retired Army Colonel and serves on the board of his Alma Mater, The Citadel. Throughout his career, he has achieved substantial resolutions for clients, including a recent multi-million dollar case filed in Federal Court. Bill has also held esteemed positions such as the Chairman of the Board of Orangeburg Christian Academy, President of Rotary in Orangeburg, and Chairman of the Republican party for the sixth congressional district. He was a runoff candidate for Lt. Governor in the 2010 Republican primary.

Bill's dedication to service extends to his military career. He joined the Army in 1990, serving over a decade as a Regular Army Infantry Officer. After transitioning to a reservist, Bill pursued and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. As an attorney, he boasts an "AV Preeminent" rating, reflecting his high ethical standards and commitment to excellence.

In 2007, Bill volunteered for a combat deployment in Afghanistan, where he played pivotal roles in developing U.S. advisory efforts and liaising with British forces, even serving alongside Prince Harry. His commendable service earned him the Bronze Star and a promotion to Lt. Colonel.

Bill's achievements include a Distinguished Graduate honor from the US Army War College and an MSS degree. He also ran for Lt. Governor of South Carolina in 2010, securing significant victories. In 2019, he was appointed to the South Carolina Floodwater Commission and was elected Chairman of the National Security Task Force.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Bill was activated for response duties and retired later that year after over 30 years of service. His dedication to The Citadel continued when he was elected to serve on its "Board of Visitors" in 2020 and was sworn in 2021. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Bill was presented with the Order of the Palmetto, South Carolina's highest award, by Governor Henry McMaster in July 2021.
